As per reports, a second and stronger atmospheric river storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds in parts of California from Saturday (03 February) evening, which may lead to significant flash flooding in several areas.

• Rainfall is expected to begin by Saturday (03 February) late night for central portions of coastal California, where a few inches of rainfall is likely to cause flooding by Sunday (04 February) early morning.
• The National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center has warned of at least eight inches of rainfall in less than 24 hours for portions of the Transverse Ranges in Southern California, with maximum totals of up to 10 inches possible in certain locations. Heavy rainfall totals of three to six inches are in forecast in central and southern California
• Strong winds of 40 to 60 mph and some gusts as high as 75 to 80 mph have been predicted across much of California, with the NWS issuing wind advisories and high wind warnings across much of the state from Redding down through San Diego covering nearly 30 million people.
• On Sunday (04 February), there is a potential for severe storms in coastal central California, including in San Jose and Salinas. Isolated tornadoes and strong winds are in forecast for these areas.
• On Saturday (03 February) morning, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders for Matilija Canyon, North Fork and Camino Cielo areas ahead of the storm. The orders will be in effect from 1700 hours (local time) Saturday (03 February) till 1700 hours (local time) on Sunday (04 February).
• A rare Level 04 of 04 risk of excessive rainfall has been issued by the Weather Prediction Center for Santa Barbara and Oxnard areas for Sunday (04 February). A Level 03 risk is in effect for much of coastal California, including San Francisco down through Los Angeles.
• As per NWS, parts of central and southern coastline of California, including the Los Angeles and San Diego metro areas are likely to witness the most significant amounts of rainfall and flooding.
• In the Bay Area, the storm is expected to hit by early Sunday (04 February), bringing heavy rainfall totals of two to four inches, strong wind gusts of up to 75 mph and a risk of significant flooding in much of the area. A threat of localized tornado also exist on the coast on Sunday (04 February).
• A flood watch has been issued for a portion of Southwest California, including in San Diego County Coastal Areas, San Diego County Deserts, San Diego County Mountains, San Diego County Valleys and the city of San Diego. The flood watch remains in effect from Sunday (04 February) afternoon till Wednesday (07 February) morning.
• Another flood watch has been issued for portions of central and northern California, including the cities of San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz etc., as well as in Santa Clara Valley. The flood watch remains in effect from 1600 hours (local time) Saturday (03 February) till Monday (05 February) morning.
• A flood watch has also been issued for Los Angeles County, including the cities of Hollywood, Torrance, Burbank, Glendale, Culver City, East Los Angeles, Llano, San Gabriel, Universal City, Beverly Hills, Santa Clarita, Malibu, Long Beach and Palmdale among other areas. The flood watch has been issued from Sunday (04 February) afternoon till Tuesday (06 February) afternoon.
