The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported an earthquake of 4.9 magnitude in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, around 2223 hours (local time) on Tuesday (06 October). Tremors were reported in Delhi and adjoining areas including Noida and Gurugram.
It has occurred at a depth of 13 kilometres.
