As per reports, Colorado is currently facing a weather event as of Friday (19 December). A combination of hurricane-force winds, record heat, and extreme drought has triggered unprecedented emergency warnings across the Front Range and Eastern Plains, and prompted numerous road closures across Colorado.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and local law enforcement have shut down several critical corridors due to extreme blow-over risks and debris. The affected sections are the following:

• CO-93: Closed between Golden and Boulder (Eldorado Springs) after multiple power poles snapped in half.
• CO-128: Closed from Superior to Highway 93.
• US-36: Restricted between Boulder and Lyons.
• I-70: Westbound lanes on the Eastern Plains closed earlier due to crashes; the mountain corridor remains under high-wind restrictions.
• Major routes, including CO-93 (Arvada to Golden), US-36 (Boulder to Lyons), and CO-128, are closed in both directions due to dangerous winds and debris.
