As per reports, workers affiliated with the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) are continuing their indefinite nationwide strike as of Tuesday (16 July). Minimal disruptions have been reported.

The NUMSA members from Menzies Aviation at East London Airport picketed on Monday (15 July) to highlight the demand for minimum 195 hours per month.

• The union has reportedly warned that the strike could affect the following airports: Cape Town Airport (CPT), King Shaka Airport in Durban (DUR), King Phalo Airport in East London (ELS), and OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg (JNB).
• The union has also warned that disruptions could affect the following airlines: Cathay Pacific (CX), Qantas (QA), Qatar Airways (QR), and Safair (FA).
