As per reports, members of the Tram Workers Alliance of Mexico have set a strike deadline amid ongoing negotiations with Servicio de Transportes Eléctricos in Mexico City on 03 March.
• The union represents approximately 2,700 workers across the city’s trolleybus, light rail, and cable car systems.
• The potential strike action follows negotiations concerning wage adjustments, job security provisions, additional hiring, and training requirements.
• In December 2025, the federal government announced a 13 percent increase in the national minimum wage for 2026, raising it to MXN 315.04 per day, equivalent to approximately USD 18.33.
• A tentative agreement including a 3.5 percent wage increase was reached, leading to a further extension of negotiations until 03 March.
