As per reports, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) workers under the Joint Action Committee (JAC), have declared a state-wide strike beginning from Wednesday (22 April).
• The decision comes after weeks of failed negotiations with the administration over long-pending grievances.
• The JAC has tabled 32 demands, with three key priorities:
– Merger with State Government: A full integration of TGSRTC into the Telangana government structure to secure financial stability and job security.
– Compensation & Pensions: Immediate rollout of overdue salary revisions and stronger pension benefits.
– Working Conditions: Tangible improvements in daily operations and staff welfare.
• Further details including the timings and location of the strike is likely to be released closer to the strike day.
