As per reports, following a train derailment that occurred at 1526 hours local time (1426 hours UTC) on Monday (27 October) near San Fernando de Henares station, Madrid’s commuter train (Cercanías) network is scheduled to operate under modified conditions throughout Tuesday (28 October).
• The Lines C-2 route between Guadalajara and Chamartín is scheduled to function with a frequency of one train every 15 minutes. Trains are expected to stop at all stations until San Fernando de Henares and, from there, continue directly to Chamartín, making only one intermediate stop at Fuente de la Mora.
• The C-7 (Alcalá de Henares to Príncipe Pío), and C-8 (Guadalajara to Villalba) on the San Fernando to Atocha section is also expected to undergo frequency adjustments. During the morning rush hour, from 0630 to 0900 hours local time (0530 to 0800 hours UTC), trains are expected to run every six minutes. For the rest of the day, the interval between trains is expected to range between 10 and 12 minutes, depending on network load and maintenance progress.
