Train disruptions expected in south-east Queensland from Friday to Sunday (03-26 April)

As per reports, planned closures to allow critical works on multiple rail projects across the network including Brisbane’s Cross River Rail, are expected to impact travel via trains in south-east Queensland, from Friday to Sunday (03-26 April).

Buses will replace trains across south-east Queensland during this period. Travel times are expected to double and passengers are to expect delays. The following are additional details:

• From Friday to Sunday (03-26 April), the Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Redcliffe, Doomben, Shorncliffe, Airport, Gold Coast and Beenleigh train lines will be impacted at different times by major track closures.
• Over the Easter Long weekend, Friday to Monday (03-06 April), most lines will operate to a weekend and public holiday timetable except for Gold Coast and Beenleigh.
• During this period, buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Banoon, Bowen Hills, Eagle Junction and Northgate, and Caboolture and Gympie North.
• From Tuesday to Friday (07-10 April), all lines will operate to a special weekday timetable, which will feature 15-minute peak services for some lines. There will be minor impacts to the Ipswich and Cleveland express service.
• From Saturday to Sunday (11-26 April), lines will return to a weekend timetable with some exceptions, including the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines.
