As per reports, Sri Lanka Railways informed that an express train plying from Badulla to Colombo derailed on Friday (05 January) afternoon, between the Great Western and Nanu Oya railway stations. While the derailment led to disruptions in train operations along the Upcountry Line, no injuries have been reported due to the incident.
