Train collision reported in Darjeeling district on Monday (17 June); five dead, several injured

As per reports, at around 0900 hours on Monday (17 June), the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjungha Express collided with a goods train near Rangapani station under the Siliguri subdivision in Darjeeling district, West Bengal. The collision and partial derailment have so far resulted in the death of five individuals while about 20-30 have been injured.

The locomotive of the goods train struck the express train from behind, causing significant damage and derailment of the compartments.
