As per reports, traffic movement on a key stretch of Boulevard Road in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, has been restricted on Thursday (01 October) to facilitate the “Run for Unity” Kashmir Marathon-2026.

The restriction is in force from 0600 to 1100 hours (local time) on Boulevard Road between Lalit Ghat and Habbak. The details are as follows:

• The marathon is scheduled to begin at the Police Golf Course Lake View, proceed towards Duck Park, and return to the starting point. A number of VIPs and participants from different sections of society are expected to attend the event.
• Traffic travelling from R.M. Bagh towards Gupkar and Lalit is being diverted through Badyari Dalgate for onward movement. No traffic other than marathon participants is being permitted on Gupkar Road until the event concludes.
• Motorists travelling towards Nishat, Shalimar and Harwan have been advised to avoid the Boulevard Road corridor and use the alternative route via Dalgate, Rainawari, Hazratbal, Zakoora, Burzahama, Tailbal, Chandpora and Shalimar.
• Vehicles travelling from Harwan, Shalimar, Nishat and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have similarly been advised to use the Shalimar–Chandpora–Tailbal–Burzahama–Zakoora–Hazratbal route instead of the Nishat–Boulevard Road axis.
• Motorists travelling from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, Habbak and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have been advised to use the Habbak–Dargah–Rainawari route instead of Foreshore Road.
• Marathon participants have been directed to park only at designated locations, including Zabarwan Park and the Botanical Garden, and not to leave vehicles along roadsides.
• Vehicles found parked improperly are subject to towing. Emergency vehicles are permitted to use the shortest available route, while members of the public requiring traffic assistance have been asked to contact the Traffic Police Control Room on 103.
