As per reports, Daejeon City announced that partial traffic restrictions will be implemented on sections of Daedeok-daero in Daejeon from Monday (19 October) in connection with the Daedeok Bridge Reconstruction Project, which is being carried out alongside the construction of Urban Railway Line 2.
• As part of the project, the section of Daedeok-daero between Daedeok Bridge Intersection and Science Park Intersection will be partially closed for approximately 31 months, from Monday (19 October) until 12 May 2029.
• Of the existing 10 lanes across both directions, five lanes will be occupied for construction, while traffic will continue using the remaining five lanes.
• Traffic towards the Daedeok Research Complex will be reduced from five lanes to three, while traffic towards Dunsan-dong will be reduced from five lanes to two.
• During rush hours, the movement of construction vehicles into and out of the work zone will be managed flexibly, while traffic conditions will be monitored continuously after the restrictions begin. Daejeon City has requested that motorists use nearby detour roads where practical due to the expected congestion during the construction period.
