As per Delhi Traffic Police, traffic restrictions, diversions and traffic management measures will be implemented in and around Arun Jaitley Stadium in connection with the India-Afghanistan T20 cricket match scheduled on Tuesday (15 September) from 1900 hours to 2330 hours (local time).
On a need basis, traffic diversions and restrictions may be imposed on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, DDU Marg, Mirdard Chowk and JLN Marg on Tuesday (15 September) from 1400 hours to 2345 hours (local time). The details are as follows:
• The movement of all types of goods vehicles will be restricted on the following stretches: Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from Daryaganj to Delhi Gate Chowk; JLN Marg from Delhi Gate Chowk towards Guru Nanak Chowk; Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from ITO Chowk towards Delhi Gate Chowk; and DDU Marg towards Minto Road and Mirdard Chowk.
• Commuters are advised to avoid the following roads between 1400 hours and 2330 hours (local time), particularly during the arrival and dispersal of spectators, as congestion is expected: JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate/R/A Kamla Market on both carriageways; Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate; Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk/ITO Chowk on both carriageways; and DDU Marg towards Minto Road and Mirdard Chowk.
• Spectators are advised to approach Arun Jaitley Stadium strictly through the designated routes corresponding to their entry gates. Gate Nos. 1 to 8 are accessible from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg on the southern side. Gate Nos. 10 to 15 are accessible from JLN Marg near Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal on the eastern side. Gate Nos. 16 to 18 are accessible from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near the petrol pump on the western side.
• Free parking will be available at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road and Velodrome Road, with a Park and Ride facility available from these locations to the stadium. There will be no general spectator parking in the immediate vicinity of the stadium, except for limited parking for vehicles displaying valid parking labels.
• Vehicles without valid parking labels will not be permitted to enter or park in the vicinity of the stadium. Valid parking labels must be prominently displayed on the windscreen and must mention the vehicle number and mobile number of the owner or driver.
• Parking for labelled vehicles will be available at designated locations. P-L will provide four-wheeler parking at JP Park, opposite Gate No. 3. P-2 will provide four-wheeler parking at Vikram Nagar Parking, adjacent to Shahidi Park. P-3 will provide two-wheeler parking near the JJB/Prayas Office.
• VVIP parking for four-wheelers will be available from Gate No. 7 to Gate No. 8. Entry to the designated labelled parking areas will be through the Vikram Nagar Cut on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near Shahidi Park.
• General vehicle parking will not be permitted on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, DDU Marg, Mirdard Chowk, JLN Marg, and Ring Road from Rajghat to IP Flyover on both carriageways. Vehicles found parked on these roads will be towed away and prosecuted as per law.
• Designated pick-up and drop-off points will be available for app-based taxis at Gate No. 2, Maulana Azad Medical College, on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg on the ITO to Delhi Gate carriageway, and Rajghat Chowk. Those using app-based taxis are advised to use only these designated points and avoid stopping vehicles on the main carriageways.
