As per reports, a traffic plan and advisory for the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW) has been issued by the J&K Traffic Police for Sunday (25 February).
• Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) such as passenger cars are expected to remain permitted from both Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa, subject to fair weather and good road conditions.
• Cut-off timings are in place for LMVs: from Nagrota (Jammu) 0600 to 1400 hours local time on Sunday (25 February), from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0700 to 1500 hours local time on Sunday (25 February), and from Qazigund 0800 to 1500 hours local time on Sunday (25 February). No vehicles will be allowed after these cut-off timings.
• Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) are expected to be managed with single-lane traffic at specific points along the NHW, including Dalwas, Cafeteria-Mehad, Gangroo, and areas with poor road surface conditions between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.
• Security Forces (SFs) have been advised not to ply against the traffic plan due to possible congestion on the NHW between Nashree and Banihal. SFs may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the NHW status from Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Ramban.
• The advisory can be found here: https://twitter.com/Traffic_hqrs/status/1761425543847981113.
• As of 2230 hours local time on Saturday (24 February), the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road, Mughal and Bhaderwah-Chamba Roads and the Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244 road remained blocked due to snow accumulation.
