As per reports, authorities announced traffic restrictions and temporary road closures across multiple parts of Madrid on Sunday (24 May) due to planned demonstrations and public gatherings related to housing protests.
• Reports indicate that the main demonstration is scheduled to commence at approximately 1200 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) from the Atocha area and proceed through Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Cibeles, Calle Alcalá, and adjoining areas before concluding near the Sevilla area.
• Reports suggest that traffic incidents and movement restrictions are expected between approximately 1130 hours local time (0930 hours UTC) and 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) near Glorieta del Emperador Carlos V, Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Cibeles, Alcalá, Cedaceros, and several parts of Barajas. Authorities advised commuters to utilise public transportation services due to anticipated congestion.
