As per reports, the M6 southbound carriageway between Junction 27 for Wigan and Junction 26 for the M58 in Greater Manchester was closed due to a police led incident on Sunday (01 March).

• National Highways confirmed at approximately 1150 hours local time (1150 hours UTC) that the motorway was blocked southbound and emergency services were present at the scene.
• At 1214 hours local time (1214 hours UTC), National Highways reported delays of approximately 50 minutes on the affected stretch.
• As of 1333 hours local time (1333 hours UTC), residual congestion continues on the M6 southbound between Junction 27 for Wigan and Junction 26 for the M58 in Greater Manchester, despite all lanes having reopened.
