As per reports, a chain collision involving a steel trailer, a truck, and a pickup truck occurred at approximately 1600 hours (local time) on the 196-kilometre southbound section of National Freeway No. 01 in Changhua County on Tuesday (21 July).
• The steel trailer reportedly lost control struck the inner guardrail, and overturned, causing steel and metal materials to scatter across multiple lanes.
• Several vehicles travelling behind were subsequently involved in the collision.
• Three people were injured and transported to the hospital, with none reported to be in life-threatening condition.
• The accident blocked multiple lanes, leaving only the outer lane partially passable and causing traffic congestion extending for more than five kilometres.
• Highway police have deployed multiple tow trucks to clear the vehicles and debris, while the cause of the accident and liability remain under investigation.
