Traffic congestion reported in South Jakarta on first day of Ramadan festivities on Thursday (19 February)

As per reports, traffic flow on Jalan Gatot Subroto experienced severe traffic congestion stretching over 5.0 kilometers to the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, Thursday (19 February) evening. Vehicular volume increased just ahead of the time to break the fast on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.

Motorists returning home from work crowded the arterial road from Slipi. At around 1700 hours (local time), traffic congestion also occurred in the area before the Gerbang Pemuda bus stop, where traffic overflowed into the dedicated bus lane, causing over 10 Transjakarta buses to get struck. Traffic congestion was reported from Ladokgi General Hospital, stretching past the Semanggi Interchange, Kuningan, and all the way to the Pancoran area of South Jakarta.
