As per reports, road work at the Interstate 70 Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels requires overnight lane closures from 14 September and will be in effect until 31 October.
The closures on the I-70 section will be implemented in the following periods:
• Overnight full-bore closures from 14 September until the end of September: 2100 to 0600 hours (local time) on Sundays
2000 to 0500 hours (local time) Mondays to Thursdays. Subsequently, from 01 October until the end of October: 2000 to 0500 hours (local time), Sundays to Thursdays.
• Both directions of I-70 traffic will be held at the entrance of the tunnel for up to 30 minutes while one direction of travel at a time is escorted through the tunnel safely.
• The restrictions will remain in effect until the project is completed.
