As per reports, the city of Rockford, Illinois is hosting its first-ever IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon on Sunday (22 June). The event includes a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run, affecting traffic and river access.

• Road closures began on Tuesday (17 June) and will continue through Sunday (22 June), with the most significant impacts expected on Sunday (22 June).
• On Sunday (22 June), streets near Davis Park and Jefferson Street are scheduled to be closed, and additional lane restrictions will be in place along the race route.
• Roads east of Madison Street will remain open on Sunday (22 June) to help maintain accessibility.
• The Rock River is scheduled to be temporarily closed during the swim and is expected to reopen after 1200 hours (local time) on Sunday (22 June.
