As per reports, a cultural procession titled the 2026 Nusantara Cultural Parade is scheduled to be held in Borobudur District on Friday (29 May) morning as part of the Borobudur Peace and Prosperity Festival (BPF) 2026.

• The procession is expected to begin at 1000 hours (local time) from the banyan tree area on Jalan Medang Kamulan.
• Participants are likely to proceed through Jalan Pramudyawardhani and Jalan Balaputradewa, concluding at the Pawon Temple area.
• The route is expected to pass multiple public intersections including the Bu Sum intersection and the Tourist Information Center (TIC) zone.
• The event is expected to involve approximately 200 to 300 participants and will be escorted by security personnel.
• Cultural performances, including folk dances, are also planned near the Bu Sum intersection on Jalan Pramudyawardhani.
• As per the Magelang Police Traffic Unit, road closures and traffic engineering measures are likely to be implemented on a situational basis depending on crowd density and movement of the procession.
• Three locations have been identified for potential temporary closures, including the Borobudur District Office to Banyan Tree starting point, the Tourism Police Office intersection on Jalan Pramudyawardhani, and the TIC area on Jalan Balaputradewa.
• Two-wheeled vehicles are likely to be permitted to pass through shared lanes alongside the procession, subject to on-ground traffic management decisions.
