As per reports, the Confédération Générale du Travail (CGT) has called for strike action across TotalEnergies sites in France on Thursday (08 October) over employment and salary-related concerns. The action may affect refineries, certain fuel stations and other sites operated by the group.
• Reports indicate that the strike could result in stoppages of fuel dispatches from refineries and temporary closures of certain TotalEnergies fuel stations, depending on employee participation and locally determined arrangements. The CGT call also covers Hutchinson, a TotalEnergies subsidiary, and Argedis, which operates approximately 180 TotalEnergies fuel stations, primarily along motorways.
• Reportedly, the CGT has cited concerns over employment levels, working conditions and salaries as the main reasons for the planned action. The union has also raised concerns over staffing levels at refineries and increased reliance on temporary and fixed-term workers.
