As per reports, a torch rally and municipal election campaign launch are scheduled to take place in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from 1800 hours (local time) on Friday (26 December).

The torch rally will proceed from Kranti Chowk to Gulmandi, with party supporters expected to participate along the route.

• This follows the announcement of a political alliance between Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. The rally will be held in the presence of Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray, who is set to formally initiate the party’s campaign for the Sambhajinagar municipal elections.
• After the procession, Aditya Thackeray is scheduled to visit the Sansthan Ganapati Temple, where he will formally launch the election campaign.
