The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a weather forecast for Saturday (20 June), warning of scattered thunderstorms across northern, northeastern, central, eastern, southern, and Bangkok Metropolitan areas.
• Scattered thunderstorms are expected mainly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phetchabun, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, Uthai Thani, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Sakhon.
• Scattered thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall are forecast in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun. Fairly widespread thunderstorms and isolated heavy rainfall are also expected across the Bangkok Metropolitan Area.
• Southwesterly winds of 10-20 kilometres per hour are forecast across northern, northeastern, central, and Bangkok Metropolitan areas. Coastal areas in eastern and southern Thailand may experience winds of 15-35 kilometres per hour, with wave heights of around one to two metres and above two metres during thunderstorms.
