The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, isolated very heavy rainfall and rough sea conditions across parts of Thailand on Friday (04 September).
• Heavy to very heavy rainfall: Fairly widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rainfall are expected across Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi and Trat. Isolated very heavy rainfall is forecast in Ubon Ratchathani.
• Scattered to isolated thundershowers: Scattered thundershowers are expected across the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, while isolated thundershowers are forecast across Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong and Phang Nga.
• Marine conditions: Wave heights of 2–3 metres, exceeding 3 metres during thundershowers, are forecast along the Andaman Sea from Phuket northwards, while waves of 1–2 metres, exceeding 2 metres during thundershowers, are expected from Krabi southwards. Along the Gulf of Thailand, wave heights of 1–2 metres, increasing to above 2 metres during thundershowers, are forecast.
