As per reports, a key four-block stretch of Bernard Avenue in downtown Kelowna is scheduled to be closed starting Monday (30 March) for a planned infrastructure upgrade, with disruptions expected to continue for approximately three weeks until mid-April 2026.

• The closure affects one of the city’s primary commercial and pedestrian corridors, significantly impacting access to retail stores, restaurants, and service providers in the downtown core.
• The project, valued at approximately CAD eight million, is part of broader urban improvement efforts aimed at enhancing long-term infrastructure and pedestrian experience.
• However, in the short term, restricted access, reduced foot traffic, and logistical challenges are expected to affect economic activity across the area.
