As per reports, Militants linked to the Boko Haram insurgent group carried out a deadly raid on remote villages in the Blangoua district, located in Cameroon’s Far North Region, late Friday night (13 February).
• Armed attackers struck while residents were asleep, killing at least two civilians and abducting 19 others in a cross-border style assault that underscores persistent insecurity in the area
• On Friday (13 February), Boko Haram militants entered multiple rural communities in the Blangoua district and opened fire indiscriminately on residents.
• Cameroonian military and security forces have launched search-and-rescue operations aimed at locating abducted civilians and pursuing the militant fighters responsible.
