According to reports, authorities placed a temporary lockdown at the Wingate University campus, located in Wilson Street area, in North Carolina’s Wingate area, after a shooting incident on Friday (28 June) evening.

The school confirmed a shooting took place at the baseball field within the campus. The lockdown was lifted after the suspected shooter was placed in the police custody. No other casualties have been reported.
