As per reports, a temporary full road closure has been announced on Via Dutra (BR-116) in the Serra das Araras section towards São Paulo to facilitate controlled rock blasting as part of ongoing highway expansion works for Saturday (31 January).

• The total interdiction is expected to take place at kilometre 225 of Via Dutra, in the Serra das Araras stretch, in the direction of São Paulo.
• The road closure is scheduled for Saturday (31 January) between 1600 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) to 1800 hours local time (2100 hours UTC).
• The closure is required to allow controlled detonation of rocks as part of infrastructure works aimed at expanding and modernizing the highway.
• The concessionaire Motiva CCR RioSP, which operates the affected section of Via Dutra, is overseeing the works and associated traffic management.
