As per reports, a private contractor struck a gas line on Valley Road between Sexsmith Road and Union Road in Kelowna, prompting an emergency response on Thursday (17 July).

• As a safety precaution, this section of Valley Road has been closed. Emergency crews are on site to manage the situation and conduct repairs.
• The City of Kelowna has stated that the earliest estimated reopening time is 1800 hours (local time).
• Motorists are advised to avoid the affected area and utilize alternative routes via John Hindle Drive and Summit Drive.
