Temporary closure of access ramp reported at San Martin Texmelucan, Autopista, from Thursday (15 October) to Friday (16 October)

Risk level: Low Country: Mexico

As per reports, Caminos y Puentes Federales (CAPUFE – Federal Roads and Bridges Agency), the federal authority responsible for the operation and maintenance of Mexico’s toll road network, issued a formal advisory on Wednesday (14 October) announcing a temporary closure affecting the Autopista México-Puebla (Mexico City-Puebla Motorway) from Thursday (15 October) to Friday (16 October).

• The closure is the result of scheduled maintenance works on a section of the motorway’s access infrastructure.
• The affected section is the access ramp that allows vehicles to join the Autopista México-Puebla at San Martín Texmelucan, Puebla, travelling in the direction of Mexico City (Ciudad de México – CDMX).
• The main carriageway lanes of the Autopista México-Puebla will remain open in both directions throughout the maintenance period. No total closure of the motorway is in effect.
• The access ramp from San Martín Texmelucan towards Puebla city is unaffected and will operate normally throughout the maintenance period.
• CAPUFE has designated three alternative entry points for road users wishing to join the Autopista México-Puebla in the direction of Mexico City from the San Martín Texmelucan area.
• Road users are directed to use the access at Arco Norte, at approximately kilometer marker 92; the access at Santa Ana Xalmimilulco, at approximately kilometer marker 99; or the access at Aeropuerto, at approximately kilometer marker 101.
