As per reports, education professionals from the municipal network of Rio de Janeiro held a march on Tuesday (03 December).
• The march, organized by the State Union of Education Professionals (Sepe), took place at 1100 hours (local time). Education workers participated in a walk that began at Candelária and proceeded to Cinelândia in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
• The march was organized to urge city councilors to withdraw Complementary Bill (PLC) 186/2024, submitted by Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD). A vigil was also held in front of the Rio City Council to monitor the vote, which had been included on the day’s agenda by the president of the House, Carlos Caiado (PSD). The education professionals were on an indefinite strike in protest against the bill, commonly referred to as the Package of Evils.
