As per reports, a collision involving two trucks was reported on the morning of Friday (18 July), forcing the closure of all northbound lanes on the M7 motorway at Prestons, just past Kurrajong Road, in Sydney’s southwest.

The incident occurred around 0650 hours and prompted an immediate response from emergency services and traffic crews. The crew remained on site for hours as extensive congestion built up along the M7, with queuing traffic stretching as far as Hoxton Park Reserve.

• Motorists travelling northbound from the Hume Motorway were diverted via Camden Valley Way and Cowpasture Road, while westbound drivers on the M5 were instructed to exit at Casula and use the Hume Highway and Elizabeth Drive before rejoining the motorway at Cecil Hills.
• Authorities warned all travellers to expect significant delays and urged the use of alternative routes.
