As per reports, the Botswana Department of Meteorological Services has warned residents to prepare for freezing early morning conditions on Froday (03 July), with temperatures expected to drop as low as negative three degrees Celsius in parts of the southern and western regions of the country.
• The coldest conditions are forecast in the southern and western areas, including Tshane, Tsabong, and Bokspits, where temperatures may fall below zero degree Celsius during the early morning hours.
• Central areas including Mahalapye and Letlhakane are expected to record temperatures of between two degrees Celsius, and five degrees Celsius, while the south-east, including Gaborone, Good Hope, and surrounding areas, is forecast to record temperatures ranging between minus two degrees Celsius and two degrees Celsius during the early morning hours.
• Areas in the north, including Maun, Gumare, Shakawe, Kasane, and Pandamatenga, are expected to record relatively warmer temperatures of approximately seven degrees Celsius and are less likely to be affected by the most severe cold conditions.
• The Department of Meteorological Services has urged the public to take precautions against the extreme cold, with most parts of the country expected to experience very cold to cold conditions during the early morning period.
