As per reports, the 86th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is scheduled from Friday (07 August) through Sunday (16 August) across Sturgis and the wider Black Hills region of South Dakota.
• The gathering is expected to attract substantial motorcycle traffic and visitor activity for concerts, scenic rides, races, bike shows, charity events and entertainment across Sturgis, Buffalo Chip, Full Throttle Saloon and surrounding venues.
• Major scheduled performances include David Lee Roth on Friday (07 August), Megadeth on Saturday (08 August), Lynyrd Skynyrd on Tuesday (11 August) and Lainey Wilson on Wednesday (12 August).
• The South Dakota Department of Transportation has activated temporary traffic signals at South Dakota Highway 34 and 79 near the Fort Meade main entrance, Glencoe Drive, Fort Meade Way near Buffalo Chip, South Dakota Highway 44 and US Highway 385, US Highway 16 and US Highway 385 east of Hill City, South Dakota Highway 34 and 79 at 11th Street, and the Interstate 90 Exit 55 eastbound ramp.
• These temporary signals are scheduled to remain operational through the end of Monday (17 August).
• Speed reductions remain in effect through Sunday (16 August). Interstate 90 is reduced from 75 miles per hour to 65 miles per hour between west of Exit 55 near Deadwood Avenue in Rapid City and west of Exit 30 near Lazelle Street in Sturgis. South Dakota Highway 34 is reduced to 35 miles per hour from Blanche Street in Sturgis east for approximately four miles beyond Buffalo Chip.
• South Dakota Highway 79 is reduced to 45 miles per hour near the Highway 34 junction, Iron Horse Campground and approaches to Full Throttle Saloon and Drag Pipe Saloon.
