As per reports, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has called for a large-scale protest outside the Transport Department in Delhi on Wednesday (06 November) over the issue of concessional passes for students.
The development comes days after the SFI commenced a social media campaign demanding concessional metro passes for students across the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), tagging the Delhi Chief Minister, Transport Minister, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and various Central Government departments. Furthermore, concessional metro passes have been a main issue of the students’ election since 2019. As per various students’ unions, the process for the scheme is complete, however the approval from the Delhi Government remains pending.
