Risk level: Low Country: Bangladesh

As per reports, a section of the students from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Tuesday (18 February) staged protests demanding the formation of a new committee and the dissolution of the three Chittagong committees due to internal reasons. They presented these demands at a press conference at the Chittagong Press Club, setting a deadline of 1500 hours of Tuesday (18 February).

After the press conference, protesters staged a blockade of the Lalkhan Bazar intersection in Chittagong City, blocking traffic movement at around 1330 hours. Significant traffic congestion was reported on one lane of the city’s GEC to Tiger Pass Road due to the protest. While the protest disbanded at 1500 hours, students have warned of further protests if their demands are not met.
