As per reports, the All-Party Struggle Committee has called for a morning-to-evening strike in Pabna on Sunday (14 September) demanding restoration of the Bera seat within the Pabna-1 constituency.
• As part of the programme, demonstrators will block the Dhaka–Pabna Highway, Nagarbari Port, and Brisalikha Ghat throughout the day.
• The announcement was made by committee convener Fazlur Rahman Fakir at an emergency meeting on Saturday (13 September).
• The agitation follows dissatisfaction with the Election Commission’s decision to separate Bera Municipality and four unions from the Pabna-1 constituency and link them with Sujanagar.
• Protest leaders allege this decision deprives Bera residents and increases the risk of conflict. A writ petition has been filed in the High Court challenging the decision.
• Leaders have warned of more stringent protests if their demands are not met.
