As per reports, the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has forecast that the impact of Storm Jana will persist in the Balearic Islands until Tuesday (11 March). The storm has brought strong winds, heavy rainfall, and a significant temperature drop, leading to event cancellations and structural damage in some areas.

• Unstable weather has dominated the weekend, with the Directorate General of Emergencies activating Gravity Index (IG) 0 of the Meteobal Plan due to strong wind forecasts in Mallorca. Wind gusts in the Serra de Tramuntana reached speeds between 70 and 80 km/h. Due to expected rainfall, the IG0 alert remains in effect on Monday (10 March) from 0800 hours to 1800 hours (local time).
• The storm has brought heavy rainfall and strong winds across the Balearic Islands, affecting various municipalities, including Lluc, Porreres, Palma, Banyalbufar, Pollença, Alcúdia, and Calvià.
• The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) issued yellow alerts for storms and coastal conditions in three autonomous communities, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, and the Region of Murcia, on Tuesday (11 March).
• Intense rainfall is expected in regions such as Catalonia, Aragón, Navarre, and parts of southern Spain, including Huelva, Cádiz, and Seville, where storms may accompany the rainfall.
• Significant snowfall is expected in major mountain ranges in northern Spain and Sierra Nevada. Strong winds, with very intense gusts, are anticipated in the Balearic Islands, northern mountain areas, western Galicia, and the high peaks of Tenerife.
• The storm will result in widespread cloud cover, frequent rainfall, and occasional thunderstorms with small hail in affected regions. The overall weather instability is expected to persist across the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. While some areas will see snowfall at higher elevations, others will experience heavy rainfall, fog, and fluctuating temperatures. Winds are expected to shift direction, strengthening in coastal and elevated regions.
