According to reports, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued proclamations declaring special non-working days in seven municipalities and two provinces across the Philippines during October 2026 to allow residents to participate in local founding anniversary celebrations and cultural festivals.
The affected areas and dates are:
– Gloria, Oriental Mindoro and Santa Monica, Surigao del Norte on Thursday (01 October).
– Mountain Province on Friday (02 October) for Provincial Indigenous People’s Day.
– Victoria, Laguna and Antipas, Cotabato on Wednesday (14 October).
– Jiabong, Samar on Thursday (15 October).
– Negros Oriental and Culaba, Biliran on Friday (16 October).
– Pigkawayan, Cotabato on Tuesday (20 October).
