As per reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine on Thursday (09 April), scheduled to run from 1600 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) on Saturday (11 April) until the end of Sunday (12 April), covering the Orthodox Easter period.

• Russian forces are instructed to halt combat operations during this window while remaining prepared to respond to potential violations.
• Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier, indicated that Ukraine was open to a reciprocal ceasefire if Russia genuinely ceased strikes, particularly during the holiday period.
• The announcement reflects a short-duration truce of approximately 32 hours, with both sides historically reporting violations during similar ceasefire attempts, indicating that sustained de-escalation remains uncertain.
