As per reports, a significant fire was reported on Vallentin Road and Shernhall Street in Walthamstow, east London, on Sunday (12 July) at approximately 1827 hours local time (1727 hours UTC).
• At its peak, 20 fire engines and approximately 125 firefighters were deployed to the incident.
• The fire affected one residential property, multiple gardens and sheds, and a railway embankment. Local Member of Parliament for Walthamstow, Stella Creasy, indicated that the fire originated from an electrical fault on the train lines near Wood Street.
• The fire was brought under control at 2235 hours local time (2135 hours UTC) on Sunday (12 July). A 32-metre turntable ladder remained on scene following control of the fire to assist with residual suppression activity.
• A significant volume of smoke was produced at the height of the incident. Residents in the vicinity of Vallentin Road and Shernhall Street were advised to keep windows and doors closed.
• Road closures were in effect on Wood Street, Vallentin Road, Shernhall Street, and Browning Close. Residents and motorists in the area were advised to avoid the affected streets.
