As per reports, rail services operated by New Jersey Transit and Amtrak were partially suspended and cancelled on Monday (09 February), following a catenary (overhead wire) failure on the Northeast Corridor.
• The disruption affected peak commuter movements into and out of New York Penn Station, with multiple lines experiencing service suspension, cancellations, and extended delays.
• As of 1130 hours local time (1630 hours UTC) on Monday (09 January), Amtrak confirmed that repair work on the damaged overhead wires was completed and power was restored; however, NJ Transit continued to experience residual delays and cancellations due to equipment repositioning and congestion along the corridor.
