Situational update on national medication tracking system in Mozambique as of Thursday (31 July)

As per reports, President Daniel Chapo has launched a national traceability system for medicines and healthcare products known as a Track and Trace system during the International Conference on Local Production, Research, and Development of Medicines and Health Products in Maputo as of Thursday (31 July).

This system is anticipated to deal with medicine theft, contraband, diversion and fake drugs by allowing tracking of each batch of medicine from the factory through to the patient.
