Situational update on Mexico-Puebla highway closure as of Thursday (08 August)

As per reports, the Mexico-Puebla highway continues to be completely shut down in both directions as of 1030 hours (local time) on Thursday (08 August), at kilometre 74 due to an ongoing protest. Travel times from Puebla to Mexico City are reported to range from two and a half to three hours. There are also delays in passenger bus services.

A temporary blockade of the Arco Norte highway at the Calpulalpan toll booth was also reported on Wednesday (07 August). Related congestion extended from San Martín Texmelucan to Calpulalpan, at kilometer 182.
