As per reports, the Hills Fire was first discovered at 1649 hours local time on Sunday (18 August) at Highway 41 and Avenue 11, Madera County, CA. Its size as per the latest update was 172 acres, with five percent containment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation advisory for the area between Highway 41 and the San Joaquin River from Avenue 11 to Children’s Boulevard.
