As per reports, a fire broke out early on Easter Sunday (20 April), in an overcrowded residence located in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York.
• Three individuals were confirmed dead, while a fourth person sustained critical injuries as the fire spread rapidly through the two-story home.
• Firefighters arrived on the scene in under four minutes, but the fire had already reached the upper levels, prompting reports of individuals jumping from the attic to escape.
• No evidence of a functioning smoke detector or carbon monoxide alarm was found in the home; exits and stairways were reportedly obstructed.
• Extension cords were present throughout the structure, raising further fire safety concerns; three firefighters sustained minor injuries while responding.
