As per reports, the explosives were discovered at a critical gas infrastructure facility in Kanjiža, Serbia, specifically near a pipeline that connects Serbia to Hungary on Sunday (05 April).
• According to the report, the device was found along the route that carries Russian gas into Hungarian territory. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić notified Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of the discovery.
• In response, Hungary has convened an emergency meeting of its defence council. Serbian authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the explosives reportedly located near infrastructure transporting Russian gas.
• Reports indicate that the situation is being treated as a serious security threat to critical energy infrastructure.
