As per reports, Maoists called for a shutdown across the Bijapur district on Sunday (26 May) against the death of 10 villagers in Pidia. However, the business owners, transportation workers, and shop owners rejected the shutdown and continued their service.
Security remained heightened across the district. Maoists blocked a road on Saturday (25 May) in Usur ahead of the shutdown, but the route was later restored to regular traffic by security personnel.
