As per reports, a shooting was reported at a soccer field in the Loma de Flores neighborhood of Salamanca, in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, on Sunday evening (25 January).
• The attack occurred shortly after a local soccer match had ended, when players, spectators, and nearby residents were still present at the field. Armed men reportedly arrived in vehicles, stormed the area, and fired indiscriminately, triggering panic and stampedes.
• At least 11 people were killed at the scene, while 12 others sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
• Emergency services and police cordoned off the area, and forensic teams were deployed to collect evidence. Mexican authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. No group has claimed responsibility so far, and the motive remains unconfirmed.
